Tracking means knowing where your calls and website visitors come from. It has two parts:
- Website analytics (usually Google Analytics and Google Search Console) shows how many people visit, from which searches, and what they do.
- Call tracking gives each source its own phone number that forwards to your real line, so you can see which calls came from the Google listing, the website or an ad.
Without tracking, you can't tell which marketing works, so you can't stop paying for what doesn't. Many of the websites we review have no tracking at all, which means the owner has never had a real answer to "Is this worth it?"
We install analytics and call tracking, then report one headline number: qualified calls. Each week you or your office mark each call as a real job in your service area, an existing customer, a sales pitch, spam, or out of area. Only real jobs count. That keeps everyone honest, including us.
Will call tracking hurt my Google listing?
Not when it's set up properly. The tracking number goes on your Google listing as the main number, with your real number listed as an additional phone. Your name, address and real number stay the same everywhere else, so search engines see consistent details. Calls still ring your existing phones. See how we set up call tracking.
