Instead of typing a search and reading ten results, more people now ask: "Who's the best roofer in Inverness?" or "Hey Siri, find a car accident lawyer near me." Google's AI answers, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Siri and Alexa reply with a short list, often three to seven names, and a sentence or two about each.
In each review we ask these tools the questions your customers ask and record who gets named, in what order, and what is said about them.
A spoken or AI answer leaves no page two. If you aren't named, you don't exist for that customer.
These tools also repeat whatever they find. If your website says "over 40 years" while an old directory says "since 1991," the AI may give the wrong year, or trust you less because your facts disagree.
AI tools build their answers from your website, your Google listing, your reviews and the directories that list you. So the work is to make every one of those sources clear, complete and consistent:
- One founding year, one phone number, one address, everywhere
- Clear service pages that say plainly what you do and where
- Plain-language answers to the questions people actually ask
- Structured data that spells out your business details for machines
- Claimed, matching listings on Apple Business Connect (used by Siri and Apple Maps), Bing Places, Yelp and the major directories
An honest limit
AI answers vary by person, place and day, and no one can guarantee a spot in them. What we can do is make your business the easiest and most consistent one for these tools to understand and recommend, and check every week what they say.
